Nurse Anesthesia Educator Track
Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia’s Nurse Anesthesia Educator Track is a 12-month course of study that prepares students to function in the Nurse Educator role. Students learn about the theoretical foundations of nursing education, how to assess educational needs, various evidence-based teaching and assessment strategies, curriculum design and development, and program evaluation.
With so many nurse anesthetists graduating with Doctoral degrees, set yourself apart by completing education courses designed to help you stand out as an educator. If you have ever thought about educating future nurse anesthetists, this program covers all facets of higher education from teaching strategies to curriculum development.
This track prepares you for the Certified Nurse Educator Exam and is able to be completed post-masters degree while you earn your Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice degree or as a certificate program without the Doctoral degree.
The program includes three online didactic courses and one on-site clinical practicum course, based on Council on Accreditation (COA) standards:
- Theoretical Foundations in Education and the Nurse Educator Role
- Teaching and Assessment Strategies for the Nurse Educator
- Curriculum Development for the Nurse Educator
- Nurse Educator Practicum
