Webinar Series: Beyond the Brachial Plexus — Isolated Axillary Circumflex & Suprascapular Nerve Blocks for Shoulder Surgery
Sept. 9, 2025
7 – 8:30 PM CT
Online Webinar (free)
This interactive session explores targeted approaches to shoulder analgesia beyond the brachial plexus. Through focused anatomy review and real-time ultrasound demonstration, participants will learn how to identify and block the axillary circumflex and suprascapular nerves to support effective, opioid-sparing perioperative pain management.
Objectives:
- Describe the anatomical course and clinical significance of the axillary circumflex and suprascapular nerves in shoulder analgesia.
- Demonstrate the ultrasound-guided technique for performing the axillary circumflex and suprascapular nerve blocks, including key landmarks, transducer positioning, needling technique, and local anesthetic dosing considerations.
